Friends

I have some of the best friends, EVER!  I know everyone says this about their friends and I am sure they are right...The goal is to surround yourself with people that make you happy, who are supportive, who love you unconditionally and who are generally kick ass people, right?!  And of course you want to be all those things and more in return.

I had a chance to spend some time with some of my girlfriends this weekend and it just made me happy :) We don't get to spend a ton of time together what with work, significant others, traveling and living in different cities.  But when we do spend time together I'd like to think we make it count!

S, M, R
Now these aren't my only two girlfriends, but they are the ones I got to spend the most time with on Saturday and the only two I got a picture with...but they mean the WORLD to me.  We have been friends for 18 years...which makes us sound incredibly old, but we're not :)  We just know who we like and when you've found good friends at age 8 there is no reason not to keep them around!  I love you girls...Thank you so much for being such an amazing and important part of my life!!!

WOW

Wow!  So it has been over a year since I started this blog...September 16, 2010 was my first post.  But even more wow is the fact that I haven't posted since February 10, 2011.  That's embarrassing.

I have been blogging a little bit on a private blog so I guess that is where most of my attention has been.  I really don't have too much to say tonight, just wanted to get a post up and try to back into blogging publicly.  I have done so many crafts and changed up so many things in our house/life and I kind of hate that I haven't documented most of it.  So while I will keep writing on our private blog, I do want to bring a little bit back here!

If anyone reads this blog, I hope you'll have me back :)  I've missed Maria's Moment!

HouseWife Approved

I have been a stay at home wife for a week and a half now.  I can't really explain it, but I am not sure how I did everything around the house and worked before, because now my whole day is spent doing stuff around the house and it never seems done!  Of course, I have much more time now to relax with Clayton when he gets home from work-so maybe that is where my time is spent?!

I wanted to post today to show off how I am now officially housewife approved...

Yep, I wore my slippers all day today :) Well, technically not ALL day, just the afternoon.  But-it is very cold and they're just so comfy!  Any other house wives out there?  How do you spend the time that you aren't working?

Bird Moment

I was going through my reader this morning and I came across a video that had me cracking up. I found the video on Sarah's blog Thrifty Decor Chick.

This video is so great!  First of all...I am totally Bryce Shivers...I love birds on things, haha.  And I would completely freak out like he does "straight up just got dust right in my eyes!! Just paint the bird or whatever it is you need to do and don't blow on things!" I think Clayton could attest to that!  I love birds in paintings, photos, songs (evidenced here), you name it, I want a bird on it.  But I am deathly afraid of them in real life...they are gross, they carry diseases and their little heads freak me out.

Hope you enjoyed the video as much as I did, ha!  Anyone else freakishly afraid of live birds?  Maybe you're pinning for a bird on your pillow?!

January Recap

January 1st I decided to start a project 365, you can read more about that herehere.  And I've kept up with it surprisingly well.  Though there were a few days that I got desperate at 10:00 at night and took some pretty random pictures.  I have detailed posts over on my 365 blog...but I wanted to give you a recap of all the pictures I took in January.
They are in no particular order and I think I need to find a better collage program.  I wasn't able to move any of the photos around so there are a few that don't even really capture the photo at all, such as the last row, first and third pictures.

January was extremely busy for us.  I threw my sister a baby shower, we went from having three residences to one, a trip to Austin, lots of crafting (mostly for said baby shower) and I left my job.  I am now a stay at home wife and once I get our home settled from the moves I want to put more time into blogging, our puppies, my soon to be here niece, my health and looking for a part time job.

Anyone else have a crazy busy January?

Music Monday: Issue 11

I am sitting in a hotel in Austin on my first day of domestic engireering (or unemployment as Clayton so sweetly calls it!) and this song was playing in the lobby.  I love this song!

Still lots to catch everyone up on...but now I should have the time :)

Happy Monday to you!

Music Monday: Issue 10

It snowed in Texas yesterday!  Snowed enough that I didn't have to go to work today.  Well I was supposed to go in around 10:00 but in East Texas the roads were still too bad for me to drive on.  So I worked this morning from home.  And while I was thinking of a song for Music Monday this one came to mind...it's such a pretty song, I think fitting for a white snowy day!

Enjoy :)

Maria's 365

I've decided to take part in Project 365.  I first heard about it here!  But once you start googling Project 365 you get a ton of amazing sites.  Basically the goal is to take a picture of a moment in your life every day for one year.  And since Clayton and I gifted each other this beauty for Christmas...I think this is the perfect project to help me learn how to use the camera!

Luckily I learned about Project 365 on January 3rd and had already taken pictures on January 1st and 2nd.  But of course you can start your Project 365 any day of the year!

I am still trying to figure out the best way to post my Project 365 pictures, I think I might set up a seperate blog and then do a monthly roundup on this blog.  Would that work?  Or is there a better way?  Regardless, here are my first few days of photos.

January 1 - Early New Years Eve with friends

January 2 - A chicken seriously crossing the road in Oak Cliff

January 3 - An evening walk with our furbabies

January 4 - Mattison waiting patiently to see if Dad will give her any stove scraps

January 5 - Handsome Turco cat
My photography skills are not that great, yet...I really love taking photographs though!  Maybe I need to do some editing as well, the chicken might look better cropped and as the main focus.  What about you?  Will you be participating in Project 365?

Music Monday: Issue 9

I am sorry. I am a blog failure. I had such high hopes for keeping everyone updated on life and our big move to Mineola. Then, life happened! And I have HORRIBLE time management skills. I have every intention of updating you on all our busyness SOON (someone, please hold me to this!) But I wanted to get in a Music Monday for my girl Rachel....go visit her! She is super smart and her blog is full of amazing insights.

I really enjoy this song, I hope you will too. Have a great Monday!!
