Mattison's Messy Moment Version 2

Mattion actually did this about a month ago, but I was looking through pictures on my camera and remembered....

The day she tore up her dog bed....into 4 MILLION pieces!!!  I used the vaccuum cleaner to clean it up and the entire mess filled the canister 5 times.  She was in trouble!

Look at her back there!!

I guess we were lucky....that could have been OUR bed...or couch!!  Hopefully none of y'all have had your bed or couch destroyed like that, but I've heard it happens...Anyone have puppy horror stories?  Please share!  It would make me feel much better :)  Have a great weekend!

For my niece

I had some free time last weekend while Clayton was working and the crafting bug bit me :) I love it when that happens!  So I sat down with some fabric and went to town on some baby headbands...they might be a little big, but I made them so they could be adjusted to her head once she arrives.  But little baby girl is also in the 97th percentile of height/weight and my sister is almost 22 weeks so she could be a pretty good size little baby.  By the way, my sister is completely freaked out by the fact that her baby is "huge" but the doctor says it is nothing to worry about for now, that she will probably even out towards the end of the pregnancy.

Fabric combined with tulle we used for my wedding veil :)

And of course I couldn't have all this cuteness around without making one for myself...I think it is pretty cute but I haven't worn it since this day so it has been sitting in my purse for a while but it is still in great shape so luckily they can take a pretty good beating without getting ruined!

What do you think?  They were easy to make and I think they are adorable...I can't wait to see her wear one, even if it is just for 2 minutes!  Anyone else made a headband?  I suggest it to anyone who hasn't!

Mattison's Messy Moment

Mattison is a great puppy, but she is just that....a puppy!  So occasionally she get into things and makes a huge mess.  Thought I'd share some of her messy moments.  This is one of the worst messes, I think because it directly affected me....see below my favorite pair of shoes...

Yes, she ate the complete top off of the shoe on the right.

So long shoes...We had a few good times, especially our rehearsal dinner.

We really do try and make sure everything is out of her little puppy reach, but she is sneaky and fast!!  We'll be back with more of Mattison's messes.

Music Monday: Issue 4

It's Monday, again.  So here I am coming at you with another great song :)

Clayton introduced me to this band when we first starting dating...it took me a few times of listening to their album before it hit me, but all of a sudden I was in love!

Once you have fully soaked in the greatness that is Ghostland Observatory "The Band Marches On" check out some of their other songs, you won't be disappointed!

Dad's Birthday

My Dad celebrated his 53rd birthday last week...Happy Birthday again, Dad!  And his absolute favorite dessert is Banana Caramel Pie.  My cousin made it on a whim one year and he fell, hard, in love :) Since then I have taken over the pie making duties and this year was no different.  I had every intention on taking pictures of my ingredients and step by step process, but I forgot :-/  So I will give you a run down of everything using google images!

Ingredients:
Pie crust - I go the easy route and use the premade ones

2-3 bananas

Can of sweetened condensed milk

Cool whip

2 heath bars

Directions:
1. Boil a pot of water.
2. Remove the label from the can of sweetened condensed milk and boil in pot for 3 hours.  Continue to keep an eye on the water level and make sure there is always enough water in the pot to completely cover the can.  Once can is "cooked" let the can sit and cool for about an hour or so.
3. Slice the bananas and lay in the bottom of your pie crust.
4. Your cooked can has turned into creamy dulce de leche, pour on top of your bananas.
5. Top your bananas and dulce de leche (caramel) with cool whip.
6. Crush heath bar bits onto your cool whip and refrigerate.

And for the final product, which I didn't forget to take pictures of.....

mmmm...i love heath bar

And there you have it!  I also made 6 mini pies this year for Clayton and he has requested that this be his birthday tradition also!  I've heard it is a great tasting pie although I will never know thanks to a banana allergy.  Has anyone else ever had "cooked can" dulce de leche?  I thought my cousin was crazy when she told me about it!

My sister is having a.......

baby GIRL!

She found out last week and I have been dreaming of pink frillyness ever since!  I want to make my adorable little niece headbands and tu-tu's and baby leg warmers :)

And I am going to throw her a baby shower in January so I finally can start thinking of themes and decorations and invitations!  Just like planning a wedding, on a much smaller, cuter scale!  So far all the direction my sister has given me is she wants pink and yellow m&m's...I think I can oblige!

Anyone have any cute baby shower theme ideas?  Excited to be gaining a precious niece or nephew?

What's in a name?

I work for a company that utilizes large maps of Texas for their everyday functions.  I was "studying" aka pretending to know what I was looking at, one of the maps the other day and noticed a common theme.  Texas is divided into 254 counties and a lot of those counties are great baby names!  Now, Clayton and I aren't in the market for a baby just yet, but I couldn't help but think of all the great names right there on the map.

Site where I found the listing of all Texas counties....http://www.texascounties4u.org/

So there we have it, name inspiration can be found almost anywhere!  And there is one on this list that we both ADORE, but we've decided we aren't going to share names until we actually have a little bundle of joy in our arms...a few years from now.

Music Monday: Issue 3

Did you miss me last week?  You two crazy followers!  Well I'm back for another edition of Music Monday!!!

With what would have been John Lennon's 70th birthday on Saturday I have been loving The Beatles!  Really though...that is a lie!  I could listen to The Beatles, all day, any day, regardless of whose birthday it might be :)  To pick just one Beatles song would be impossible and a shame so here are a few of my favorites.

Blackbird is one of the most meaningful songs The Beatles ever recorded.  Fact.  So I will leave you with this picture of my Dad and I dancing to it on my wedding day.

Smooch

I just wanted to post one of the best pictures from our wedding day.  I want to do an entire wedding post or posts but haven't organized everythig enough yet.

You can't see our entire bridal party in this elevator shot, but really this pic is all about my sister in law, E, off to the right hand side!  Our photographers (amazing!  seriously...check them out http://www.sixpenceweddings.com/) told Clayton and I to kiss and I guess E thought they meant everyone.....

PRICELESS :)

Happy Friday Everyone!
